Bass Sir Name DNA Study, interested in our people!

I got a little thrill over the weekend, seeing this posted on the Bass Sir Name DNA Study.

The ladies seemed very excited about the pictures and stories, which for me were old news, but some of my favorites too. The big excitement was that this line carries the R-M198 haplogroup on the male Y-DNA, which is unusual. This is the same a my results. They were posting stories from the 1988 Bass reunion in Utah, tied directly to the couple pictured. It was like they’d come across a treasure trove, and were kind of surprised that I’d transcribed the documents years ago. It was a fun and rare experience. Hope I learn something from their new interest in the line.

I’d share more detail, but technically the group is closed and sharing too much would be a violation of rules. I only share the images, because they both already posted to this page in previous posts, and I have my own copies.
