These two men were brothers and their wives were sisters. The two couples moved back to Covington County from Florida after the war where they homesteaded and raised their large families on adjoining farms. Much if not all of the land they homesteaded still belongs to various decedents from each family.
Holland sold his land to his and his brother Riley’s youngest sons, Stacy and J. Bennett Bass. I’m not sure of the timing, but Holland moved to the Holt/Baker Florida area at some point. I presume the land was sold around the same time. (Feel free to correct this.)Stacy and Bennett, who were double first cousins, also married a pair of sisters and raised their families, and were very close.
